The TPS40140EVM-002 is an evaluation module designed to use a regulated 10.8V to 13.2V bus to produce two high current, regulated outputs. Both outputs are capable of supplying up to 20A of load current. The TPS40140EVM-002 is design to demonstrate the TPS40140 in a typical regulated bus to low voltage application while providing a number of test points to evaluate the performance of the TPS40140 in a given application. The TPS40140 is a multi functional synchronous buck controller that can be configured to provide either a single output two phase power supply or a power supply that supports two independent outputs. Several TPS40140 controllers can be stacked up to a 16 phase multi phase single output power supply. Alternatively, several controllers providing multiple independent outputs can be synchronised in an interleaving pattern for improved input ripple current. The TPS40140 is capable of converting from a 15V input to a 0.7V output at 1MHz.
