The REG102NA-2.5/250 is a single channel low dropout (LDO) linear regulator with fixed output in 5 pin SOT-23 package. The DMOS topology of this low noise regulator provides significant improvement over previous designs including low dropout voltage and better transient performance. In addition, no output capacitor is required for stability unlike conventional low dropout regulators that are difficult to compensate and require expensive low ESR capacitors greater than 1μF. The quiescent current remains relatively constant over load variations and under dropout conditions. On-chip trimming results in high output voltage accuracy and it is maintained over temperature, line and load variations. The REG102 internal circuitry provides current limit that protects load from damage and thermal protection circuitry keeps chip from being damaged by excessive temperature.
