The DRV104PWPR is a DMOS high-side Power Switch employs a pulse-width modulated (PWM) output. Its rugged design is optimized for driving electromechanical devices such as valves, solenoids, relays, actuators and positioners. It is also ideal for driving thermal devices such as heaters, coolers and lamps. PWM operation conserves power and reduces heat rise, resulting in higher reliability. In addition, adjustable PWM allows fine control of the power delivered to the load. Time from dc-to-PWM output and oscillator frequency are externally adjustable. Separate supply pins for the circuit and driver transistor allow the output to operate on a different supply than the rest of the circuit. This PWM High-Side Driver can be set to provide a strong initial solenoid closure, automatically switching to a soft hold mode for power savings. The duty cycle can be controlled by a resistor, analogue voltage or a digital-to-analogue (D/A) converter for versatility.
