The ADS8331EVM is an evaluation module for ADS8331, a low power, 16bit, 500k samples per second (SPS) analog to digital converter (ADC) with a unipolar, 4 to 1 multiplexer (mux) input. The evaluation module provides a serial interface header to easily attach to any host microprocessor or TI DSP base system. An OPA211 buffer amplifier is on board and can be added into the signal path to drive the ADC by simply changing a jumper setting. By default, the evaluation module is designed to operate with an on board 4.096V reference (REF5040), but can be easily modified to use an external reference source. The REF5040 is pin compatible with the REF50xx family allowing a wide variety of reference values. The reference voltage signal has the option to be buffered through an OPA350 before connecting to the ADC.
