The AVR-P28N-8MHZ is a is prototype board for 28pin AVR microcontrollers with STKxxx compatible 10pin ICSP connector. The AVR microcontrollers are low power CMOS 8bit controller based on the RISC architecture. The AVR core combines a rich instruction set with general purpose working registers. All the registers are directly connected to the arithmetic logic unit (ALU), allowing two independent registers to be accessed in one single instruction executed in one clock cycle. The resulting architecture is more code efficient while achieving throughputs up to ten times faster than conventional CISC microcontrollers.
