The PS2801C-4-F3-A from NEC is a surface mount optically coupled isolator in 16 pin SSOP package. This isolators consist of GaAs light emitting diode and NPN silicon phototransistor. SSOP package has shield effect to cut off ambient light. Hence this isolator is used in programmable logic controllers, measuring instruments and power supplies.
