The 13-10-1 RG179 from Multicomp is a BNC straight plug connector suitable for RG 179 cables. The centre contact has to be assembled with the cable inner conductor by soldering or crimping and the ferrule needs to be crimped on the cable for transmission and fixing. BNC coaxial connectors are one of the world's most popular RF connectors. This is a miniature, light-weight connector which can operate satisfactorily up to 11GHz. The BNC is typically used in applications from DC to 4GHz and yield low reflection in this frequency range. BNC connectors are the most prevalent in computer networks, audio, data processing and telecommunications equipment because of their size and relatively low installation cost.
