The PIC24FJ64GB004-I/PT is a 44-pin general purpose Flash Microcontroller with USB On-The-Go (OTG) and nanoWatt XLP technology. The 16-bit low power microcontroller with full-speed USB, 64kB flash memory, 8kB RAM and advanced peripherals. The USB On-The-Go module provides on-chip functionality as a target device compatible with the USB 2.0 standard, as well as limited stand-alone functionality as a USB embedded host. By implementing USB Host Negotiation Protocol (HNP), the module can also dynamically switch between device and host operation, allowing for a much wider range of versatile USB-enabled applications on a microcontroller platform. The PIC24F CPU has a 16-bit (data), modified Harvard architecture with an enhanced instruction set and a 24-bit instruction word with a variable length opcode field. The Program Counter (PC) is 23 bits wide and addresses up to 4M instructions of user program memory space.
