DM240315-2 is a remote control demo board with ZENA wireless adapter. The board has a 3.5inch QVGA display with a resistive touch screen in portrait mode, 11 mTouch solution capacitive touch keys, five way joy stick and a MRF24J40MA transceiver. The PIC24FJ256DA210 is a 16bit microcontroller with integrated graphics, USB and Charge Time Measurement Unit (CTMU) modules. It is used to control the operation of the board. Board is shipped preprogrammed with the code, the display images on the external flash. RF based remote controls are gaining popularity for two way communication, and non requirement of line of sight communication. Within RF medium, the RF4CE protocol is gaining popularity as a wireless protocol for use within the home. The radio used for the remote control is the MRF24J40MA, 2.4GHz IEEE 802.15.4 transceiver. The mini USB B can be used to power the remote control.
