NET-SMTP-CLIENT-P-P1-PLATFORM is a uC/SMTP Simple Mail Transfer Protocol client module with platform license. It is an add on application layer protocol to uC/TCP-IP. The standard protocol used for sending Internet e-mail is called Simple Mail Transfer Protocol. SMTP uses TCP as the transport layer protocol and Port 25 is used by the STMP server to listen to incoming connections. An e-mail client sends an e-mail message to an SMTP server. The server looks at the e-mail address and forwards it to the recipient's mail server, where it's stored until the addressee retrieves it. SMTP is simple and light enough to be used on an embedded system when transmission of messages is required.
