The MAX971CSA+ is an ultra low power, open drain, single low voltage comparator in 8 pin NSOIC package. This single/dual supply micropower device draw less than 4μA supply current over temperature. The MAX971 is ideal for 3V or 5V single supply applications. The input voltage ranges from negative supply rail to within 1.3V of positive supply. It provides unique, simple method for adding hysteresis without feedback or complicated equations by using HYST pin and two resistors. The open drain outputs permit wire ORed configurations. The output voltage range of 11V and separate GND pin for the output transistor makes the device ideal for level translators and bipolar to single ended converter. The MAX971 is used in battery powered systems, threshold detectors, window comparators and oscillator circuits.
