The MAX776CSA+ is a -15V high efficiency, low IQ inverting DC to DC controller in 8 pin NSOIC package. This negative output, inverting power controller can be configured to drive an external P-channel MOSFET. Additionally, part can be set to any desired output voltage using an external resistor divider. The inverting switching regulator delivers high efficiency over three decades of load current. It has a unique control scheme that combines the advantage of pulse skipping, pulse frequency modulation (PFM) converter (ultra-low supply current) with advantage of pulse width modulation (PWM) converter (high efficiency with heavy loads). This control scheme allows device to achieve 85% efficiency with loads from 5mA to 1A. It is used in LCD-bias generators, high efficiency DC-to-DC converters and data communicators.
