The MAX6670AUB60+ is a remote temperature switch with integrated fan controller/driver in 10 pin μMAX package. This remote junction thermal switch with an internal power transistor drives a cooling fan rated for supply voltages up to +12V and 250mA. It measures temperature of an external P-N junction (typically a diode connected transistor) and turn on fan power switch when remote temperature rises above factory programmed threshold. The MAX6670 is simple drop-in fan control solutions for variety of systems due to self contained and requiring no software development. It has an open drain active-low WARN output that goes active when remote temperature exceeds factory programmed fan activation threshold by +15°C. The device also has an open-drain active-low OT output that goes active when remote temperature exceeds factory programmed threshold by +30°C. It is used in network switches, PC power supplies, laboratory instruments, card racks, temperature alarms and fan controls.
Power supply voltage range from 3V to 3.6V
