The MAX5820LEUA+ is a dual, 8bit, 2-wire, serial voltage-output digital to analogue converter (DAC) in 8 pin μMAX package. This device has a serial interface, power-down circuitry, dual input & DAC registers, two 8bit resistors string DACs, two unity-gain output buffers and output resistor networks. The serial interface decodes address and control bits, routing data to the proper input or DAC register. Data can be directly written to DAC register, immediately updating device output or can be written to input register without changing the DAC output. DAC with an I2C compatible 2-wire interface operates at clock rates up to 400KHz. It features a double buffered I2C compatible serial interface, all logic inputs are CMOS logic compatible and buffered with schmitt triggers allowing direct interfacing to optocoupler and transformer isolated interfaces. Device minimizes digital noise feed-through by disconnecting clock (SCL) signal from rest of device when an address mismatch is detected.
