The MAX5815AAUD+ is an ultra small, quad channel, 12bit buffered output digital to analogue converter (DAC) with internal reference and I2C interface in 14 pin TSSOP package. The DAC include output buffers and an internal reference that is selectable to be 2.048V, 2.500V or 4.096V. A precision external reference input allows rail to rail operation and presents a 100Kohm (typ) load to an external reference. It has an I2C compatible, 2-wire interface that operates at clock rates up to 400KHz. The DAC output is buffered and has a low supply current of less than 250μA per channel and a low offset error of ±0.5mV (typ). On power-up, the device reset the DAC outputs to zero, providing additional safety for applications that drive valves or other transducers which need to be off on power-up. The internal reference is initially powered down to allow use of an external reference.
Supply voltage range is 2.7V to 5.5V
Operating temperature range from -40°C to 125°C
4 high accuracy DAC channels, 12bit accuracy without adjustment, ±1LSB INL buffered voltage output
Monotonic over all operating conditions, independent mode settings for each DAC
Internal output buffer, settling time of 4.5μs & outputs directly drive 2Kohm loads
Separate 1.8V to 5.5V VDDIO power supply input
Power-on-reset to zero-scale DAC output
LDAC (complementary) and CLR (complementary) for asynchronous control
Three software-selectable power-down output impedances 1Kohm, 100Kohm or high impedance
Internal reference tempco is 3ppm/°C (typ) & 10ppm/°C (max)
