The MAX5544CSA+ is a low cost, serial input, voltage output, 14bit monotonic digital to analogue converter (DAC) in 8 pin NSOIC package. It operates from a single +5V supply. The DAC output is unbuffered which results in low 0.3mA supply current and low 1LSB offset error. The MAX5544 output ranges from 0V to VREF. The DAC latch accepts 16bit serial word. A power-on reset circuit clears the DAC output to 0V (unipolar mode) when power is initially applied. The 10MHz 3-wire serial interface is SPI/QSPI/MICROWIRE compatible and interfaces directly with opto couplers for applications requiring isolation. It has reference -3dB bandwidth of 1MHz and power supply rejection of ±1LSB at 4.75V <= VDD <= 5.25V. The MAX5544 is used in high resolution offset and gain adjustment, automated test equipment and data acquisition systems.
