The MAX543ACPA+ is a single, current output, multiplying, 12bit digital to analogue converter (DAC) in 8 pin DIP package. This serial CMOS DAC has 3-wire serial interface which saves additional board space and also results in low power dissipation. The MAX543 minimizes digital noise feed-through from its input pins to its output when used with microprocessors with serial port. The serial port can be used as a dedicated analogue bus and kept inactive while MAX543 is in use. It contains 12bit R-2R type DAC, serial-in parallel-out shift register, DAC register and control logic. The digital inputs are TTL and +5V CMOS compatible with +5V supply. High voltage CMOS compatibility is maintained with +15V supply. The MAX543 uses low tempco thin film resistors which are laser trimmed to ±1/4LSB linearity and better than ±1LSB gain accuracy. It is used in μP controlled systems, automatic calibration, digitally controlled filters, motion control systems & programmable amplifiers/attenuators.
