The MAX536BCWE+ is a calibrated, quad, 12bit, voltage-output digital to analogue converter (DAC) with serial interface in 16 pin WSOIC package. It contains four 12bit voltage output DAC that are easily addressed using a simple 3-wire serial interface. They include a 16bit data-in/data-out shift register and each DAC has a double buffered input composed of an input register and DAC register. DAC is an 'inverted' R-2R ladder networks that convert 12bit digital inputs into equivalent analogue output voltages in proportion to applied reference voltage inputs. The serial interface is compatible with either SPI/QSPI or MICROWIRE and allows the input and DAC registers to be updated independently or simultaneously with a single software command. The DAC registers can be simultaneously updated with a hardware LDAC (complementary) pin. All logic inputs are TTL/CMOS compatible. It is used in automatic test equipment, digital offset and gain adjustment and microprocessor-controlled systems.
