The MAX522ESA+ is a dual, 8bit, voltage output serial digital to analogue converter (DAC) in 8 pin NSOIC package. The DAC is 'inverted' R-2R ladder network using complementary switches that convert 8bit digital inputs into equivalent analogue output voltages in proportion to the applied reference voltage. It has one reference input which is shared by DAC A and DAC B. The device includes output buffer amplifiers for both DACs and input logic for simple microprocessor (μP) and CMOS interfaces. This device is used in digital gain and offset adjustment, programmable current source, programmable voltage source, power-amp bias control and VCO tuning.
Supply voltage range is 2.7V to 5.5V
Operating temperature range from -40°C to 85°C
Dual buffered voltage output
Low power consumption, 1mA operating current & shutdown current < 1μA
Independently programmable shutdown mode
Utilizes 3-wire serial interface which operates at clock rates up to 5MHz
SPI, QSPI and Microwire compatible
Software format is compatible with the MAX512/MAX513 triple 8bit DACs
Differential nonlinearity is ±1LSB (monotonic) & integral nonlinearity is ±1.5LSB
