The MAX5154BCEE+ is a low power, dual, 12bit voltage output digital to analogue converter (DAC) with serial interface in 16 pin QSOP package. It consumes only 500μA from single 5V supply. The device has rail to rail output swing and it is available in a space saving package. The DAC output amplifiers are configured with an internal gain of +2V/V to maximize dynamic range. The 3-wire serial interface is SPI/QSPI and MICROWIRE compatible. Each DAC has double buffered input organized as an input register followed by DAC register which allows input and DAC registers to be updated independently or simultaneously with 16bit serial word. It also includes programmable shutdown (2μA) hardware shutdown lockout, separate reference voltage input for each DAC that accepts AC and DC signals and active-low clear input that resets all registers and DACs to zero. It is used in digital offset and gain adjustment, motion control, microprocessor controlled systems and automatic test equipments.
