The MAX4210EEUA+ is a low cost, low power high side power and current monitor in 8 pin μMAX package. This real time power and current monitor device provides an analogue output voltage proportional to power consumed by load by multiplying load current and source voltage. The MAX4210 measures load current by using a high side current sense amplifier which makes this device for use in battery powered systems by not interfering with ground path of load. The device is a small, simple 6 pin power monitor intended for limited board space applications. It uses an external resistor divider network for greater design flexibility. The MAX4210 is typically used in overpower circuit breakers, smart battery packs/chargers, smart peripheral control, short circuit protection, power supply displays measurement, instrumentation, baseband analogue multipliers, VGA circuits and power level detectors.
