The MAX3055ASD+ is a ±80V fault protected/tolerant CAN transceiver in 14 pin NSOIC package. It is a interface between protocol controller and physical wires of bus lines in CAN. The device provides differential transmit capability and switch to single mode if certain fault conditions occur. The extended fault protected voltage range of CANH and CANL bus lines of ±80V. Current limiting and thermal protection circuits protect the transmitter output stage against overcurrent faults to prevent destruction of transmitter output stage. The CANH and CANL lines are also protected against electrical transients that may occur in rugged environments. It provides three low power modes that can be entered and exited through active-low STB and EN pins. The MAX3055 is designed to provide optimal operation for specified data rate and it is ideal for high data rates of 125Kbps. Built-in slope control allows use of unshielded cables & receiver input filters provide high noise immunity.
