The MAX196BCWI+ is a multirange, single, 12bit data acquisition system (DAS) with 12bit bus interface in 28 pin WSOIC package. It requires single +5V supply for operation and converts analogue signals at its inputs to ±10V. The device provides six analogue input channels that are independently software programmable for variety of ranges including ±10V, ±5V, 0V to +10V and 0V to 5V. This range switching increases effective dynamic range to 14bit and provides flexibility to interface ±12V, ±15V and 4mA to 20mA powered sensors to a single +5V system. It includes 5MHz bandwidth track/hold, 100Ksps throughput rate, software selectable internal/external clock, internal/external acquisition control, 12bit parallel interface and internal 4.096V or external reference. The MAX196B employs standard microprocessor (μP) interface. All logic inputs and outputs are TTL/CMOS compatible. It is typically used in automatic testing systems and telecommunication applications.
