The MAX16903RAUE33/V+ is a high voltage, current mode mini buck converter in 16 pin TSSOP package. This small, synchronous converter integrates high and low side FETs. The device is designed to deliver 1A output current with input voltages from 3.5V to 28V while using only 25μA quiescent current at no load. Voltage quality can be monitored by observing the PGOOD signal. The MAX16903 can operate in dropout by running at 97% duty cycle and operates at 2.1MHz frequency which allows for small external components and reduced output ripple. The device does not provide AM band interference. SYNC input programmability enables three frequency modes for optimized performance such as forced fixed frequency operation, skip mode (ultra low quiescent current of 25μA) and synchronization to an external clock. It is used in high voltage input power DC to DC applications.
