The MAX14986ETI+ is a dual 6GT/s SAS/SATA redriver with equalization and extended temperature operation in 28 pin TQFN package. This dual channel redriver is designed to redrive one full lane of SAS or SATA signals up to 6.0GT/s (gigatransfers per second). It operates from single 3.3V supply. The MAX14986 has independent input equalization and output preemphasis. It enhances signal integrity at receiver by equalizing signal at input and establishing preemphasis at output of device. SAS and SATA OOB (out of band) signalling is supported using high speed amplitude detection on inputs and squelch on corresponding outputs. Inputs and outputs are all internally 50 ohm terminated and must be AC coupled to SAS/SATA controller IC and SAS/SATA device. The MAX14986 has -10dB differential input return loss, -6dB common mode input return loss, -10dB differential output return loss and -6dB common mode output return loss. it is used in computer on modules, carrier boards and test equipments.
