The MAX14789EGSA+ is a full-duplex, ±35kV ESD protected, RS 485 transceiver for high speed communication in 8 pin NSOIC package. It is designed for robust communication in harsh industrial environments. Device features ±35kV ESD protection on the RS 485 pins and operate from a 3V to 5.5V supply with a 4mA no-load supply current (max). It gives a logic high receiver output when either the receiver inputs are shorted or open, or when they are connected to a terminated transmission line with all drivers disabled. It is used in encoder interfaces, HVAC control systems and utility meters.
