The MAX1416EPE+ is a 16bit, Low power, 2-channel, sigma-delta analogue to digital converter (ADC) in 16 pin DIP package. This 2-channel (fully differential) serial output ADC uses a sigma-delta modulator with a digital filter to achieve 16bit resolution with no missing codes. It includes a PGA, an on-chip input buffer, an internal oscillator and a bidirectional communication port. The fully differential inputs, an internal input buffer and an on-chip PGA (gain = 1 to 128) allow low level signals to be directly measured, minimizing the requirements for external signal conditioning. A programmable digital filter allows for the selection of the output data rate and first notch frequency from 20Hz to 500Hz. This device is used in weigh scales, loop-powered systems, flow and gas meters, thermocouple measurements, RTD measurements and pressure transducers.
