The MAX1148BCUP+ is a true differential, serial, 8-channel, 14bit SAR analogue to digital converter (ADC) in 20 pin TSSOP package. This low power ADC contains internal track/hold, voltage reference and clock. All analogue inputs are software configurable for unipolar/bipolar and single ended/differential operation. The 4-wire serial interface connects directly to SPI/QSPI/MICROWIRE devices without external logic. The serial strobe output (SSTRB) allows convenient connection to digital signal processors. The MAX1148 uses an internal clock or an external serial interface clock to perform SAR ADC conversions. The device includes an internal 4.096V reference and accepts an external reference from 1.5V to VDD. It provides hardware shutdown and two software power-down modes. The quick turn-on time allows power-down between all conversions. This technique reduces supply current to under 120μA for quick turn-on. It is used in data acquisition, data logging & battery powered instruments.
