The LM75BIM-3+ is a digital temperature sensor and thermal watchdog with 2-wire interface in 8 pin NSOIC package. This industry standard multi sourced sensor includes delta-sigma analogue to digital converter and digital overtemperature detector. The host can query LM75 through its I2C interface to read temperature at any time. The open-drain overtemperature output (OS) sinks current when the programmable temperature limit is exceeded. The host controls the temperature at which alarm is asserted (TOS) and hysteresis temperature below which the alarm condition is not valid (THYST). The TOS and THYST registers of LM75 can be read by the host. The address of LM75 is set with three pins to allow multiple devices to work on same bus. Power-up is in comparator mode with defaults of TOS = 80°C and THYST = 75°C. The 3V to 5.5V supply voltage range, low supply current and I2C interface make the LM75 ideal for many applications in thermal management, thermal protection and test equipment.
Accuracy (six-sigma) of ±3°C and accuracy (three-sigma) of ±2°C at -55°C <= TA <= +125°C
Operating temperature range from -55°C to 125°C
Separate open-drain OS output operates as interrupt or comparator/thermostat input
Temperature conversion time of 100ms and 9bit resolution
Register readback capability
Power-up defaults permit stand-alone operation as a thermostat
Low quiescent supply current of 0.25mA (I2C inactive) and 4μA (shutdown mode) at +VS = 3V
Shutdown mode minimizes power consumption
Up to eight LM75 devices can be connected to a single bus
Pin and/or register compatible with MAX7500, MAX6625, MAX6626, DS75LV and DS7505 devices
