The LT1962IMS8#PBF is a micropower adjustable output low dropout (LDO) regulator in 8 pin MSOP package. The low quiescent current of 30μA makes this regulator as an ideal choice for battery powered systems. The quiescent current is well controlled and it does not rise in dropout as it does with many other regulators. The LT1962 regulator has low output noise and it is stable with output capacitors as low as 3.3μF. The output noise drops to 20μVrms over a 10Hz to 100KHz bandwidth with the addition of an external 0.01μF bypass capacitor. Small ceramic capacitors can be used without the series resistance required by other regulators. Internal protection circuitry includes reverse battery protection, current limiting, thermal limiting and reverse current protection.
