The Morph-IC-II is a USB based FPGA development module featuring the Altera Cyclone-II EP2C5F256C8N FPGA with the FT2232H dual, high speed USB UART/FIFO IC used for USB communications. ?The FPGA module is capable of implementing LSI designs or entry level VLSI designs. Designs can be synthesised through utilising up to 4, 608 logic elements of Morph-IC-II on board FPGA. The module provides integration of high speed USB capability (480Mbit/s) with an FPGA, to enable ultra fast software based FPGA configuration/reconfiguration and communication using the royalty free drivers. The concept of the Morph-IC-II is to provide the ability to easily alter the function and capability of a silicon device via software, allowing multiple functions to be implemented within the same silicon, whilst reducing bill of materials and silicon cost. The module has 4 connectors giving access to all the FPGA I/Os plus a JTAG header, that can be used to interface to Morph-IC-II with signal tap analyser.
