The ATMEGA645-16AU is a 8-bit high-performance low-power AVR RISC-based Microcontroller combines 64kB ISP flash memory, 4kB SRAM, 2kB EEPROM, 53 programmable I/O lines, an 8-channel 10-bit A/D converter and a JTAG interface for on-chip debugging. The device achieves throughput of 16 MIPS at 16MHz and operates between 2.7 to 5.5V. By executing powerful instructions in a single clock cycle, the device achieves throughputs approaching 1 MIPS per MHz, balancing power consumption and processing speed. The Atmel? AVR? core combines a rich instruction set with 32 general purpose working registers. All the 32 registers are directly connected to the Arithmetic Logic Unit (ALU), allowing two independent registers to be accessed in one single instruction executed in one clock cycle. The resulting architecture is more code efficient while achieving throughputs up to ten times faster than conventional CISC microcontrollers.
