The ADL5502-EVALZ is an evaluation board for the device ADL5502. It is a fully populated, 4-layer, FR4 based evaluation board. For normal operation, it requires a 2.5V to 3.3V/20mA power supply. The power supply should be connected to the vector pins labelled VPOS and GND. The RF input signal is applied to the edge mounted SMA type RF connector (RFIN). The envelope and RMS output signals are accessible via the edge mounted SMA connectors (VENV and VRMS). The ADL5502 is a mean-responding (true rms) power detector in combination with an envelope detector to accurately determine the crest factor of a modulated signal. It can be used in high frequency receiver and transmitter signal chains from 450MHz to 6GHz with envelope bandwidths over 10MHz. Requiring only a single supply between 2.5V and 3.3V, the detector draws less than 3mA. The input is internally ac coupled and has a nominal input impedance of 500R.
