The ADIS16240/PCBZ is a "breakout board" that provides ADIS16240ABCZ and interface PCB to simplify the process of "prototyping" during the early stages of system design and evaluation. The ADIS16240ABCZ is a fully integrated, digital MEMS shock detector and recorder, which provides a serial peripheral interface (SPI) for all digital communications. It is in a 12mm x 12mm laminate based ball grid array (BGA) package that minimizes board space but does not support typical prototype soldering processes. The interface PCB provides access to the ADIS16240ABCZ, using dual row, 12pin connectors, which supports standard ribbon cable systems and hand soldering connection techniques. The triple axis sensing element enables shock measurement in all directions, eliminating the need for additional sensors and complex mechanical structures for many applications. The digital serial peripheral interface (SPI) uses four wires and is compatible with most processor platforms.
