The A3984SLP-T is a DMOS Micro-stepping Driver with built in translator. The driver is designed to operate bipolar stepper motors in full, half, quarter and eighth-step modes, with output drive capacity of 35V and ±2A. It includes a fixed off-time current regulator that has the ability to operate in slow or mixed decay modes. It is an ideal fit for applications where a complex microprocessor is unavailable or is overburdened. The translator is the key to the easy implementation, by simply inputting one pulse on the STEP input drives the motor one micro-step. The chopping control automatically selects the current decay mode (slow or mixed). When a signal occurs at the STEP input pin, driver determines if that step results in a higher or lower current in each of the motor phases. Internal circuit protection includes thermal shutdown with hysteresis, under-voltage lockout (UVLO) and cross over-current protection.
- Low RDS (ON) outputs
- Automatic current decay mode detection/selection
- Synchronous rectification for low power dissipation
- -20 to 85°C Ambient temperature range
